Application:
The OPS pneumatic table type shot blasting machine has been designed to clean objects made of steel, cast steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and their alloys.
It is also used to roughen and tarnish surfaces of objects made of glass, rubber, plastics, leather and other materials.
Design and operation principle:
The OPS shot blasting machine has a rigid and compact sound absorbing cabin whose front part is equipped with a door opened upwards. The door is equipped with a lever system which helps open it. The door opening is very big so it is easy to load parts onto the working table of the machine. Parts can be loaded manually or mechanically by means of cranes. Inside of the cabin and of the door is lined with wear-resistant rubber lining protecting the cabin against wear. The rubber lining works as acoustic insulation of the machine at the same time. The inside is illuminated by halogen lamps. In the cabin there is a rotary table which facilitates cleaning of parts. The shot blasting machine is equipped with dust extraction system consisting of a fan with air ejector, filtration chamber and cyclone chamber. In the lower parts of the chambers there are waste and dust collecting tanks.
Parts to be cleaned are put on the rotary table of the machine. The cleaning process consists in projecting abrasive material by an injector cleaning head which is controlled manually by the machine operator. The life of the cleaning head is very long due to replaceable nozzles made of abrasion-resisting sintered carbide. During the cleaning process abrasive material is recycled in a closed circulation system and it undergoes continuous self-cleaning and regeneration by separation of dust and excessively fine particles. When the machine works a slightly negative pressure is generated inside the cabin which prevents dust emission outside of the machine. Air extracted from the machine chamber goes through a filtration system (cyclone, filter, fan) built-in in the rear part and is pushed out to atmosphere by the air ejector. Air extracted from the machine is clean enough to let it be released to production shop where the shot blasting machine is installed. The OPS shot blasting machine is equipped with a system of electrical protections and interlockings which safeguard the operating staff and the surrounding area against any danger of accident.
