The OWS shot blasting machines are used to clean surfaces of small metal parts by means of abrasive material in the form of metal shot of granulation 0,2 to 1,2 mm. The parts to be cleaned are put on a working table. After loading parts into the machine the working chamber door must be closed. Then the machine shall be started by pressing the start button and the time shall be set on potentiometer. By pressing the button the projecting rotor is switched on and the working table with parts thereon is put in rotary motion. During the shot blasting operation shot feeder is opened to feed shot to the rotor. Shot and wastes drop through the openwork table to the bottom wherefrom they are transported to elevator. The elevator delivers them to a separator above the working chamber where shot is separated from wastes. The separated shot goes to the shot tank and again through the shot feeder to the projecting rotor, whereas the wastes go out of the machine to a wastes tank.
The machine is also equipped with an air filter which cleans the polluted air from the working chamber, elevator and separator. Clean air goes to atmosphere whereas wastes are transported to a tank under the filter. Shot residues segregated from the filter are recycled to circulation (elevator). Shot circulation system is a closed system. The machine is equipped with an automatic shot filling unit and alternating current converter (inverter) which steplessly adjusts the cleaning parameters.
As soon as the shot blasting time is over the projecting rotor is switched off automatically. When clean castings are removed and new parts are loaded the machine is ready to start a new operation cycle.
Advantages:
- small overall dimensions and compact structure occupy a small part of production area,
- complex shot blasting station equipped with a bag filter,
- low energy consumption,
- simplicity of design and operation,
- low weight of the machine,
- short and efficient shot blasting process,
- small consumption and effective action of abrasive material,
- efficient filtering of working air,
- adjusted kinetic energy of shot ejected by the projecting rotor makes shot blasting parameters fully adjustable and adapted to cleaning requirements.
