Application:
The turbine mixer is used to make backing and facing moulding sand of fresh and old, natural and synthetic ingredients. It has been designed to operate in mechanized foundries where automatic sand processing plants are used. It can also be used in simple sand preparation stations of manual control for the needs of small foundries. Apart from moulding sand processing the turbine mixers can be used to mix other materials, ex. in ceramic, chemical or food processing industries (ex. salt) etc.
Operation principle:
The turbine mixer has a rotating pan, a turbine and a mixing arm rotating around its own axle due to separate drives. The pan and arm rotate slowly whereas the turbine is a quickly rotating element. Sand is charged to the mixer through an opening or openings in the upper lid of the machine. Water and other liquid ingredients are fed by means of sprayers located inside the mixer. Ready mixture is released through a discharging flap situated centrally in the pan bottom. The mixer is equipped with a central lubrication system.
Advantages:
- simple operation,
- low consumption of electricity,
- small weight,
- long life of the mixing chamber due to resistant to wear and easy to replace linings,
- long life of turbine and blade elements owing to the use of special wear-resistant materials,
- easy access to the interior of the machine through a wide door and inspection hatches,
- increased durability of the machine due to application of central lubrication of friction elements,
- rotary pan precisely made and balanced thus ensuring quiet operation of the mixer and reduced changing load of rim bearing.
